I continue to believe that the TVA will have recreational Lake Levels by Spring, but I do want the public to understand and emphasize the impact TVA could have if they fail to achieve recreational boating on Boone by Spring. If you know of organizations or have contacts that could get this message to the right folks please forward as appropriate.
One can read of other dams where repairs were made while maintaining the lake levels. The ecology of Boone Lake includes clams that are not mobile enough to move to the lower lake levels. We lost a number of these last winter with the draw down for dam repairs. Please emphasize at every opportunity the and ecological impact that lowering the lake has on all three of the Tri-Cities. Whether it’s a clam, a back yard or a business, let’s make sure lower lake levels are justified.
