It is rare, but occasionally a TV commercial catches my eye and I choose to watch rather than fast forward. One such commercial that is currently running features three obviously wealthy young people talking about a cell phone company that wants to save them money. They were laughing about the idea that they could do something that would save them money, because saving money wasn’t a priority for them. The experience was all that mattered. Maybe a fun way to live life, but not an option for the vast majority of us. We have to be careful with our money and make sound financial decisions.
We also have to concentrate on what is best for our families and loved ones. These three rich “kids” were obviously only thinking about themselves. I would be scared to death to be on a lake with them operating a boat of any kind around my family.
What does any of this have to do with the Carefree Boat Club? Our main goals are: affordability, safety, courtesy and making memories with your loved ones. Does this mean we wouldn’t let these kids from the ads join our club? It might. If they won’t take boating safety courses, won’t be respectful of others and don’t think about the other boaters on the lake and the lake environment but only think about themselves then they might not be a fit. Because we care about ALL of our members and want them all to be safe, save money, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Am I saying we won’t accept an application from someone who is “stupid rich” (you HAVE to see this commercial, it is hilarious and the stupid part simply means more money than they know what to do with)? Of course not. But if you aren’t “stupid rich” but want to enjoy lakes all over the country, top of the line boats and a customer service experience that makes you feel like one of these kids, then look into joining our club. Safety, enjoyment, customer service and time with your loved ones in some of the prettiest places God created and best of all you don’t have to be “stupid rich” to join.
PS Come join us at Lake View Dock on South Holston this Sunday afternoon from 4-6pm for food, fun and fellowship and we will be glad to answer any questions you might have about joining our club, the Lake View Dock family or both!
